Traveling to Columbus, Ohio for Breast Augmentation, Breast Implant Replacement / Revision, Breast Reduction, or Breast Lift Surgery
Patients frequently travel from outside of Columbus, even from out of state, to have Dr. Houser perform their breast surgery.
Although Dr. Houser will always plan your medical care based on your individual needs (your appointment schedule may vary a bit), if you are having breast augmentation, breast lift, or breast reduction, the information below is provided as a general guide to planning your visits to our Columbus, Ohio office:
- The consultation appointment: This appointment with Dr. Houser usually takes about an hour.
- A pre-operative appointment is usually required a couple of weeks prior to your surgery.
- Your surgery day: The day of your breast surgery you will need to have a responsible adult drive you home, to your hotel, or to a post-surgical recovery center. Cosmetic Surgery Recovery Suites (614.580.9395), located in downtown Columbus, can provide you with transportation to their facility, if needed. Whether you will be going home, to a hotel, or staying with friends or family, it is important that you have someone stay with you for the first 24 hours following your surgery. With advance notice, our office can also arrange for private nursing care.
- One week follow-up: Dr. Houser will want to see you one week after your surgery.
- You will have additional follow-up appointments but the schedule of these will depend largely on your particular surgery and your recovery. Dr. Houser will be able to give you a more detailed appointment schedule during your consultation and pre-operative appointments.
If you are having a breast reduction (reduction mammoplasty) and your insurance is covering some or all of the cost of the surgery, an overnight stay in the hospital is often a requirement for insurance coverage. Our office staff is experienced in sorting through insurance requirements and we are happy to help you with this task.
